Small Business Saturday was first observed in the US in 2010 and is the counterpart to Black Friday (featuring big-box retail) and Cyber Monday (featuring e-commerce).
Originally sponsored by American Express, Small Business Saturday has since gained unanimous support of the US Senate and all 50 states now participate in this day to celebrate and support small businesses, and all they do for their communities.
Small Business Saturday falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which will be on November 24th this year.
